Hi, I’m Lauren, owner and therapist at Therapy Knox! I’m a wife and mom, a passionate though terrible gardener, and a serial hobby collector. In my spare time I read mysteries and nonfiction, spend a lot of time outdoors, and research the next hobby I want to take up (my current fascination is with beekeeping).

I love working with Christian women who are doing all the right things, but are still struggling to connect with their faith or others. After my own experience of having to rebuild my faith following a series of disappointments and past hurts, I realized that it is far too easy to go through the motions of the Christian life without ever actually understanding and living in the love of the Lord. I’ve discovered that hurt or unmet needs from our past can interfere with our ability to connect with the Lord and other people. I love working with people to figure out what in their past or present is blocking them from being able to connect well with the Lord and others.

If you’re wondering what methods I use, I’m trained in EMDR therapy, and often use that around traumatic events in my client’s lives. I also have taken continuing education in working with parts of self (ego state/internal family systems therapy) and with the body (psychosomatic therapy). I don’t use all of these with every client, but pick and choose based on what each client’s needs.
