I love working with Christians who are trying to figure out how their faith makes sense in light of life’s difficulties. For my clients, the effect of a significant trauma or more general disappointments may have quietly grown to the point that they feel let down or frustrated by God or their faith. I enjoy partnering with these clients to help them understand and heal from their hurts in the context of faith. My goal is to help clients gain a new understanding of their faith which allows them to live with true confidence in God’s love for them.
Maybe you can absolutely identify that moment in your past that everything went wrong: the first time your boyfriend hit you, or that big car accident that still causes panic attacks. Or maybe there was no specific moment, but a more chronic hurt— your needs haven’t been met, your family never saw you, you always feel alone and uncared for. Either way, I would love the chance to help you overcome the effects of the past and claim the future you want.
Most of my clients struggle with some form of anxiety in their relationships and identity. They may have not gotten their needs fully met as children, so they never feel well-loved or fully accepted. Maybe they have experienced rejection that they can’t seem to get past, or they were hoping that their life would look different at this point than it does. I love to help clients uncover the reason for their anxiety in light of their life story, and partner with them to help them write a new chapter.
